Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go. —William Feather
Today has been so much better! I have enjoyed my work more, I have been angry less, and I seem to be thinking more clearly. Perhaps, as the above quote indicates, pushing past rough days when others would give up is truly the way to happiness.
I have recently found joy in new ironic friendships — proof to me that suffering through encounters with difficult people pays off. I have found that weathering the storm at work sometimes makes it easier on you later than grumbling and complaining now does. And most importantly, while Joe’s been away, I’m learning that absence really does make the heart grow fonder. I miss and love that guy so much! 13 more days until I get to hug that silly boy!
That’s not to say I don’t have things on my mind — because I do — but I’ve been better today about appreciating life’s blessings and no t sweating the small stuff. I am thankful for days like today!
Looking beyond my current circumstances, which seemed really unhappy yesterday, helps. The big picture is that I am very blessed with so much love in my life. Hanging on through bad days is so worth it!
